OXQL / Developer platform

Your device. Your code. Your ideas.

Program the firmware, configure devices from your phone, run your own streaming service and build plugins with AI. OXQL gives you the tools to make the whole workflow your own.

01

Program in C++

Build on the open-source OXRecorder managers and services. Customize recording, storage, sensor processing and device behavior through the dedicated USB Type-C programming port.

02

Configure from your phone

The iOS and Android management apps help you initialize OX devices, connect over Bluetooth, set up Wi-Fi and change device settings.

03

Own the workflow

Connect devices and your applications through PSSP, keep encrypted recordings on your own infrastructure and extend your setup with custom plugins.

Set up OXQL on iOS and Android.

Open the mobile app, pair your device over Bluetooth and configure its Wi-Fi and operating settings. Keep everyday setup in your pocket while you build the rest of your system.

Android is available as an APK; iOS is available through TestFlight. See the download page for current build details.

Encrypted streaming. Your own service.

PSSP — Publish Subscribe Streaming Protocol — is OX Recorder’s own protocol for communication between devices and server applications. It provides authenticated, encrypted transport for streaming data, alongside device commands and status messages.

Download the broker, client and source packages to use PSSP in your own projects. Self-host the service, manage access and route encrypted audio to your own infrastructure.

Run it on your own server.

A self-hosted instance runs the OX service on your own Mac or Ubuntu server. Recordings stay on your hardware and never reach the OX cloud, only the accounts you create can open them, and you keep managing every device from the cloud portal.

Private by design

Live audio and recordings from assigned devices are stored only on your server, sent over encrypted connections and visible only to the accounts you authorize. OX keeps no copy.

Your portal and API

Each instance has its own web portal, user accounts and API tokens for your in-house systems.

Managed from the cloud

Assign devices, change settings and schedules, install updates and watch health alerts from the cloud portal.

Keep control of your firmware.

Develop your own firmware, build it for your OXQL hardware and install updates through the dedicated USB Type-C port. The desktop uploader and firmware packages are available to download.

Remote device management

Use the connected management service to change supported settings and control recording remotely. Firmware services synchronize configuration and exchange commands over PSSP.

Remote firmware updates

Over-the-air firmware installation requires an OTA-enabled firmware build and compatible partition layout. The current supplied firmware uses a single application partition without OTA; update this build through USB-C.

Vibe code a plugin of your own.

Describe what you want to build in OX AI Builder, preview the result and refine it through conversation. Use the plugin platform to create your own OXQL interfaces, audio tools, sensor dashboards and automated workflows.

01

Describe and build

Ask AI for a live-audio dashboard, meeting summary tool or motion monitor. Use AI Builder or bring the downloadable AI Build Kit into your preferred coding tool.

02

Preview and test

Work with sample devices, recordings and sensor data in the DevKit. Validate the plugin, test its behavior and check real-device integrations before delivery.

03

Connect and extend

Work with authorized device data, live audio, transcripts and sensor streams. Add plugin actions, saved settings and automations within the permissions exposed by the platform.

Plugins run through the OX platform and its documented APIs. Device access and actions depend on permissions and device enablement. Preview uses sample data; submitted plugins must pass review before publication.
